CRIME: Police confirms the arrest of suspected cultist for destroying kings palace in Rivers State

The Rivers State police command has confirmed the arrest of 3 suspected cultist who masterminded the attack in the palace of the paramount ruler of Elele in ikwerre local government area of Rivers State.

Suspected cultist had on the early hours of Sunday, 10th of November, 2019 attacked the Palace of of His Majesty, King J. O Amadi, Nyeweli Elele in Ikwerre local government Area of Rivers state and burnt his 6ycar and another belonging to the CDC chairman, Mr Godspower Chikere For introducing Elele Security Peace Advisory Committee ESPAC in the Area.

Speaking during an interview with the police public relation officer PPRO ASP NNAMDI Omoni who confirmed the arrest States that 3 suspected cultist have been arrested in the area and taken to the appropriate quarter for investigation and interrogation and those found culpable will be dealt with according to the law and urged the people of the community to be law abiding and remain calm.

According to the first son of the paramount ruler, Mr Prince Amadi Nnamdi who told our correspondent said he believes the introduction of the Elele Security Peace Advisory Committee ESPAC in the Area will help in curbing the rate of crime and criminal activities in the area despite the attack been carried out by hoodlums who were suspected to be cultists.

Furthermore, the community development committee chairman, Mr Godspower Chikere who also said he is still begging and pleading with the bad guys despite the fact that his car has been damaged and burnt to come and surrender there arms and give peace a chance so investors can come in and develop the state.
